Indoor Air Quality is always a big concern & challenge in all buildings having high occupancy levels. Maintaining Indoor Air Quality is the most critical part of HVAC due to high occupant's levels. Poor indoor air quality results to adverse effect on the health of the occupants. Poor indoor air quality results to adverse effect on the health of the occupants inside the building, as most of the time spent inside the building means we all need to breathe quality of inside air only. Other then occupational health problems poor IAQ also results to fatigue and loss of productivity.
Poor IAQ results to various health problems as reported by occupants of the building, which is often calledSick Building Syndrome (SBS). Sick Building Syndrome (SBS) is used to describe cases where building occupants experience adverse health effects e.g. dizziness, fatigue, high head, headache, nausea, dryness and irritation of the eyes, nose, throat and skin, shortness of breath, hypersensitivity, allergies, coughing etc.
High occupancy in any building leads to high ventilation rates .Designing the HVAC system as per recommended ASHRAE 62 standards requires designing the HVAC with either high amount of fresh air as determined & defined by the number of occupants inside the building. This adds up additional load on the HVAC system requiring extra tonnage resulting to high capital cost. This also puts additional recurring power cost burden.

Applications in Recreational & Educational Areas:
Theatres
Bowling Alleys
Indoor Staid UMS
Schools
Colleges
Auditoriums Solution: Solution is to install rotary based energy recovery devices along with HVAC , these energy recovery devices recovers the energy from the exhaust of various place in healthcare and the energy is used to precondition the fresh air , thus saving total energy i.e. both sensible & latent. This not only checks the additional TOR required but saves the power (running) cost. The energy recovery wheel, heart of any energy recovery devices, also checks the contamination level and do not transfers the contamination to the supply air due to wheel construction/desiccant selection, purge sector & special seals provided. Energy recovery wheels also provides more fresh air with lower humidity levels and much lower energy costs.
One can install the energy recovery wheel (ERW) along with the HVAC system or Energy recovery ventilator (ERV) or Treated fresh air units (TFA) which are customized with all inbuilt options e.g. cooling section, heating section, fan & filtration sections etc.
This can be either retrofitted or installed fresh.

Benefits of energy recovery:
Enhanced Indoor Air quality
Enhanced Energy Savings
Total energy recovery i.e. both sensible & latent energy
Energy savings is over 80% & is almost equal for both sensible & latent
Almost no Cross Contamination
Special Labyrinth seals to avoid cross leakage between supply and exhaust air
Adjustable purge sector to ensure no cross contamination between two air streams
